Undergraduate

Only Open Units are currently offered to students across faculties as part of their own degree programmes.
Both 'Japanese Language' and 'Understanding Japanese Society' are 20 credit points units at level C.
Both units are taught by Japanese specialists.
"Understanding Japanese Society": 2 hours x 12 weeks; lecture followed by class seminar ';covers a wide range of topics from demography, social change, to Japanese economy, politics and culture.'


Postgraduate

Some Japan-related PhDs are currently in progress in different departments in the University, for example:

- Comparative policies in long-term care in Japan and Britain
- Internationalisation of Japanese tea ceremony
