There is one core (part time) Teaching Fellow in Japanese, and two or three part time Japanese language tutors are employed each year. These are generally native speakers resident in York.
Library and Information Resources York's Japanese Studies resources are distributed across the library's collections and there is no single person with overall responsibility for them. York has about 1,000 Japan-related books in English and subscribes to about 12 Japan-related journals in English. The average annual expenditure on Japan related resources in the main library is about £1,200 and assistance for resources has been received in the past from the Japan Foundation. |
